The problem

"Fasting food" isn't automatically light

Most diet advice either ignores fasting days completely, or assumes vrat and Ramzan food is automatically low-calorie because it looks simple. It often isn't. A Sabudana Vada can carry as many calories as a samosa. An iftar plate of pakoras can run past 500 kcal before the actual meal starts. Generic diet plans don't account for any of this, and generic fasting advice doesn't account for your body, which is why a proper vrat diet plan or Ramzan diet plan has to start from your own numbers, not a one-size-fits-all list.

Normal Vrat

  • 🌾Falahar rules respected: no grains, no lentils, no onion-garlic, sendha namak only
  • 🪔Works for Navratri, Ekadashi, Sawan Somvar, and general fasting days
  • 🚫No meat, egg, or fish anywhere in the plan
  • 🔍Heavy vrat staples like sabudana and potato are swapped for lower-GI options if you have diabetes

Ramzan (Sehri & Iftar)

  • ⏰Built around sehri and iftar timing, not a food restriction list
  • 🍗Vegetarian or non-vegetarian, your choice
  • 🔋Sehri structured for slow-release energy through the fasting hours
  • 🍽️Iftar portioned so the evening meal doesn't undo the day's fast

Before you fast, a safety note

If you're pregnant, have diabetes managed with insulin, have kidney disease, or have uncontrolled blood pressure, extended fasting carries real medical risk. The form below asks a few screening questions. For pregnancy with diabetes, poorly controlled diabetes, recent low blood sugar or a current illness it does not make a fasting plan (and offers a full refund); for pregnancy and some other conditions it asks you to confirm your doctor has said you can fast. It cannot replace your doctor's clearance. This is general nutrition guidance, not medical advice.

What your diet plan includes

Everything worked out, nothing guessed

  • 📐Your BMR, TDEE and daily calories for the goal you pick: keep your weight steady, lose slowly or gain slowly, plus protein, carbs, fat, fibre and water, based on ICMR-NIN's nutrient requirements for Indians (RDA 2020) and Dietary Guidelines for Indians (2024)
  • ⚖️Every food in exact grams, marked dry or raw weight, with a kitchen measure next to it, like "80 g kuttu atta, about 2½ rotis"
  • 🗓️3 rotating menus (A, B, C) so you don't eat the same thing every day, enough for all 9 days of Navratri or the whole of Ramzan
  • 💧A water plan with times and glasses, for Ramzan, split between iftar and sehri
  • 📜The food rules for your vrat, what to eat, what to avoid, and where family traditions differ
  • 🔁Smart swaps with matching calories or protein, so you can change a food without breaking the plan
  • ⚠️Notes for diabetes, BP, heart or liver disease, acidity, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and clear signs for when to stop the fast
  • 📧Sent as a PDF attachment to your email from noreply@groteins.com, yours to keep

Common questions

Vrat & Ramzan Diet Plan FAQ

Does the same ₹99 cover both a vrat plan and a Ramzan plan?

Each ₹99 purchase gives you one access code, and one code makes one plan, for the fasting type you choose in the form. If you need both a vrat plan and a Ramzan plan, you'll need two access codes, each ₹99.

Can this replace a doctor's advice if I have diabetes or kidney disease?

No. This plan gives general nutrition guidance, not medical advice. For some answers, like pregnancy or diabetes on insulin, we make a plan only after you confirm your doctor has allowed you to fast. For the highest-risk answers, like kidney disease or recent low blood sugar, we don't make a fasting plan at all and you can take a full refund.

I'm doing a Ramzan fast and eat non-vegetarian. Will the plan include that?

Yes, tell the form your preference and the plan will include non-vegetarian options at sehri and iftar. Normal vrat plans stay strictly vegetarian with no egg, as per Hindu fasting practice.

How is this different from the main Diet Plan Generator?

The main Diet Plan Generator builds a full week of everyday eating. This tool is built only for fasting days. It follows vrat food rules or sehri and iftar timing, and gives you 3 rotating fasting-day menus.

Are the quantities for raw or cooked food?

Flours, samak, sabudana, dal and rice are given as dry weight, before cooking. Vegetables and meat are raw weight. Dahi, milk, fruit and nuts are weighed as you eat them. Each item also shows a kitchen measure, like rotis or katori, as a guide.

Can I use one plan for all 9 days of Navratri or the whole of Ramzan?

Yes. The plan has 3 menus (A, B and C) that you rotate, so 9 Navratri days are 3 full rounds, and in Ramzan you never eat the same day twice in a row.

Does the plan tell me how much water to drink?

Yes. You get a daily water target and a schedule with times and glasses. For Ramzan it is split between iftar and sehri. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, the water target is raised for you.

Can I lose weight during Navratri or Ramzan with this plan?

Yes, if it is safe for you. Pick "Lose weight slowly" and your calories are set 250-500 kcal below your TDEE, a gentle pace of about 0.25-0.5 kg a week. A bigger cut is not advised while fasting. If you are under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, have a higher-risk condition, or your BMI is already below 23, the plan keeps you at maintenance and explains why.

What if I lose my access code?

Use "Resend my access code" under the form and enter the email you paid with. If the code is unused, we send it again. Each code creates one plan; after that your plan lives in the PDF we email you, so download it and keep it.

This is general nutrition guidance and not medical advice. Fasting, whether for religious observance or otherwise, should be undertaken with your doctor's awareness if you are pregnant, managing diabetes or blood pressure with medication, have kidney disease, or have any other condition that fasting could affect.
