Privacy Policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026. This policy applies across every product Groteins offers, now and in the future.
Groteins ("Groteins", "we", "us", "our") is a sole proprietorship based in Sasaram, Bihar, India, registered under Udyam (UDYAM-BR-28-0016130). We build focused software products in the health and nutrition space. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information across groteins.com and every product, tool, or service we offer under the Groteins name, whether it exists today (the Diet Plan Generator, the Workout Plan Generator, the Vrat & Ramzan Diet Plan and our free calculators and Label Check) or is introduced later. When we launch a new product, this policy automatically extends to it unless we publish a separate notice for that product's specific needs.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), Groteins is the "Data Fiduciary" for the personal data you give us. By using groteins.com or any Groteins product, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use our products.
The exact information we collect depends on which product you use, since each tool is designed for a different purpose. Broadly, this can include:
Where a product is used on behalf of someone else (for example, a coach, gym, or clinic generating results for their own clients), that professional is responsible for having appropriate permission from their client before submitting the client's information to us.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information to anyone. We use analytics and advertising tools (Google Analytics and Meta Pixel) to understand website traffic and measure our marketing, as described in section 7 below. These tools never receive the health details you enter into our products.
Some Groteins products (including the Diet Plan Generator, and potentially others in the future) ask for health-related details in order to personalize their output. This information is used strictly to power the product's functionality (for example, tailoring recommendations or surfacing relevant safety notes), and is treated with additional care internally. It is not used for advertising, is not sold, is never sent to Google Analytics or Meta, and is shared with third parties only to the limited extent described in section 6 below. Please also see the health-related disclaimer in our Terms & Conditions: our products are software tools, not a substitute for professional medical advice.
Your consent. Before the Diet Plan Generator uses your health details, you tick a box to give your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to us (section 11). Withdrawing does not undo a plan already made, but we will stop using and delete your data as described below, unless a law requires us to keep part of it.
We store information using reputable, industry-standard cloud infrastructure and take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to stored information is limited to what's necessary to operate and support our products. That said, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our products run on Google's cloud services, and emails are sent through Google and Zoho. These services may store data on servers outside India, as allowed under the DPDP Act.
How long we keep it. For the Diet Plan Generator:
For other products, we keep information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the product, comply with the law, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it in the following circumstances:
Our website and products may use cookies or similar technologies to remember your preferences, and understand how our products are used so we can improve them. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how well some features work.
Some of our tools also save information directly on your own device using your browser's local storage, so you do not have to re-enter it each time. For example, your access code is remembered on that device so it stays filled in if you come back, a coach can choose to have their brand details remembered, and a prompt you dismiss stays dismissed, and our free calculators can remember the numbers you last entered so you can compare next time. Label Check reads a photo of a label on your own device; the photo is not uploaded to us. This information stays in your browser, is not transmitted to us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing your browser data for this site.
We also use analytics and advertising tools provided by third parties, including Google Analytics and Meta (Facebook) Pixel. On pages where you enter health details, the Meta Pixel is set to record page visits only, and neither tool receives what you type into our forms. These tools may collect information such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages visited, and, where you've interacted with our ads on Meta platforms, a hashed (non-readable) version of your email or phone number, used only to help match ad performance. This data is governed by Google's and Meta's own privacy policies. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and manage your ad preferences on Meta through your Facebook/Instagram account settings.
Certain products use an access code or similar credential tied to your email to control usage. Treat these like a password, anyone who has your code or credentials can use the access linked to it. You are responsible for keeping them confidential, and Groteins is not liable for unauthorized use resulting from a code or credential you shared or failed to protect.
Our products are intended for use by individuals who are 18 years of age or older. The Diet Plan Generator makes plans for adults only, including when a professional uses it, and it does not accept anyone under 18. If another product allows a professional to use it for a minor client, the product will say so, and the professional must first have the verifiable consent of the child's parent or lawful guardian, as the DPDP Act requires. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information directly, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Groteins is based in India and our products are primarily intended for use within India. If you access our products from outside India, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws, including those relating to the transfer of personal data.
You may ask us at any time to:
To exercise any of these, email us using the details below. If you are unhappy with how we handle your request, you can raise it with our Grievance Officer (section 14). We'll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.
In the unlikely event of a security incident that puts your personal information at risk, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, contain, and notify affected individuals and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
As Groteins launches new products, this policy is written to extend to them automatically. If a future product needs to collect materially different categories of information, we'll update this policy (and, where appropriate, ask for your consent again) before that product processes your data. We'll revise the "last updated" date above whenever this policy changes, and encourage you to review it periodically.
If you have a complaint about how your personal data has been handled, or you are not satisfied with how we responded to a request under section 11, you can raise it with our Grievance Officer:
So that you know what to expect, we aim to acknowledge a grievance within 72 hours of receiving it, and to resolve it within 30 days. If resolving it will take longer, we will tell you why and give you a revised timeline.
When you write in, please include the email address you used with the product concerned, so we can locate your information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, to make sure we are not disclosing or deleting someone else's data.
If you remain unsatisfied with the outcome, you may escalate the matter to the Data Protection Board of India.
