๐ Free packaged food checker
Scan the barcode or photograph the label. We check sugar, fat, salt, how processed it is and its additives, then tell you straight: okay to eat, eat occasionally, or harmful if eaten regularly. No app, no signup.
๐ฆPick up the packet and choose how to check it
No barcode, or it will not scan? Check it from the pack instead.
๐งชCheck the ingredients list
Photograph the ingredients list on the pack (not the nutrition panel). This checks each additive against a reference table of FSSAI-permitted additives. It does not read calories or macros.
What we found in the ingredients list
Matched against a reference table of common food additives (FSSAI-permitted, with notes drawn from FSSAI, WHO/JECFA, EFSA and IARC). This checks the additive itself against public safety reviews. It does not test your specific pack, and it is not medical advice.
๐ทPoint the camera at the barcode
๐Do not hold it close. Most phone cameras cannot focus nearer than about 20 cm, so a barcode held close stays blurry and never scans. Move it back until the lines look sharp.
๐ผ๏ธPhotograph the nutrition panel
Hold the phone straight above the nutrition table, fill the frame with it, and avoid glare. Clear photos read far better.
Step 2: Check the numbers
Enter the values exactly as printed on the pack, per 100 g or 100 ml.

This is an automated check based on the nutrition values provided, using published FSSAI claim thresholds. It is not a lab test and not medical advice. Values may vary from the actual product.

The front of a pack is there to sell. The back of the pack tells you what is actually inside. This checker reads the back, by barcode, photo or typing, and gives one clear answer: okay to eat, eat occasionally, or harmful if eaten regularly. Every answer shows the facts behind it, so you are never asked to just trust a score.
The same brand often sells a different recipe in India than it does abroad, different sugar levels, different fortification, different serving sizes, even when the packaging company is the same. A barcode registered outside India can pull up the international version of a product and quietly give you the wrong numbers. When that happens, the checker says so and asks you to photograph the actual panel instead of guessing.
It reads what is printed on the pack. It cannot test what is actually inside the packet. Only a lab can do that. It also does not replace advice from a doctor or dietitian if you have a health condition that affects what you should eat.
